Isn't it more safe to just have someone drive them up there?

I remember when I got my car relo'd from Virginia to Iowa. They put it on the top rack of the trailer and I was freaking out about how they were driving it up the shit ramps they had. The dude was having problems getting it up the ramps too. so nerve racking. worste part about it was the fact that it was my track car at the time (K20 95 civic) so that wouldn't go over well with the insurance companies at all.. .

Not really. Its not a short drive by any means and thats just putting miles on the car and more chance of something happening on the road or when you stop to sleep. My car was perfectly fine. I was still crapping myself about it but they took good care of it.

They're looking into doing an enclosed transport for the S, since I indicated the height of the car at the lowest jacking point, even though I'm stock ride height. People use the same company for shipping cars to Barrett Jackson so I'm not too worried. I am thinking though of writing up instructions and posting it on the car, eg don't crush my bolsters, hold the start button, etc!

If it has to ride in an open transport, it goes on top by default for being a convertible, so safe from road debris.

If the company really does move cars for Barrett Jackson I'd imagine the S2000 is going to be one of the cheaper cars that the operator transports. I sincerely doubt that you need to leave instructions, for a guy who transports high end cars for auction, on how to transport your stock S2000.

to clarify, they put my car in an enclosed trailer, above my stuff, using some janky ass ramps. I think he used two sets of ramps to make one. the first set were simply 2x10 planks. the other were actual ramps like below. But just imagine watching you pride and joy being put in the top of a semi trailer.. .

That's why you hire the best that money can afford, and if he has someone who moves high end vehicles to and from auctions it sounds like his new employer did exactly that.

His car is not absurdly low, it doesn't have engine work that makes it finicky, it doesn't have a different exhaust that hangs lower than normal. It's basically a stock S2000 that should be able to be loaded into a moving truck fairly simply. I just can't imagine the look on that guys face when he climbs into the Honda with a list of instructions on how to load the car... like he doesn't know what hes doing.

It'll be totally fine, like you said, everything is basically stock except for a tune. I've taken it to some places like 5-Diamond rated resorts with a valet (my last CA trip), and mainly what I tell them is regarding the start button.

Compared to most of the newer cars on the market with start buttons where you push it once, most people that haven't driven it before appreciate the heads up, so they aren't trying to crank the engine with the key, or tapping the start button instead of holding. It's all about how it's communicated.

I just moved back from Seattle. If you're working where I think (Bellevue) there is a Tuesday night meet just up the road from there with some cool guys! Also I would recommend checking out the exotic car show every Saturday in Redmond. Search for exotics@rtc on google/Facebook it's like car cars and coffee thing but they usually have some pretty rare stuff stop by.

thanks!

I'll be working in south lake union, so were looking within 5 miles or so to minimize commute and keep the S parked. I've heard good things about that meet, will definitely check it out.
