need advise on daily driver
#1
hey guys,
ok, here's the deal. i currently have a 98 240sx and i hate it. its auto, it has a truck motor, etc... i thought it'd be a good daily driver, but its not. so ive decided to sell it (hence my for sale thread) and pick something else up. but what to pick up is still unclear to me.
i have narrowed down the choices to a 98+ accord 4door manual, or a 2nd gen acura legend. i also have a budget to keep of roughly $7k. what do you guys think would be a better daily? im looking for:
space
comfort
somewhat fun
decent gas mileage
reliability
if you have any other cars you'd like to suggest, please do so. remember, i already have an s2000 so i dont need another roadster/not-practical car.
thanks in advance... mike

spelling fixed...
supercharged s2000... yum. my s2000 was my daily until i came down here. after some thought, the need for a people mover was evident (ie 4 doors, or at least a back seat)

Who needs a backseat? You'll never get elected to "drive the gang" to lunch! I agree with Wortham; why would anyone want to drive any other car than a S at all? (OK, pushing in the clutch on the 202 in rush hour does get a little old )
Pick up the latest issue (April, "2004 Cars") of Consumer Reports. Besides new cars, they list the most reliable used cars as well as which ones to stay away from. The whole issue is quite informative and has reliability histories on almost all makes/models for the past 8 years.
Have fun!

My wife had a 1996 Honda Civic Sedan until it got smashed from behind. Never had a single problem with it, and I think it books right around $7K these days. Maybe less?...

my old 99 civic si was wonderful. it never gave me one problem, and i loved the 8k redline. of course, the good si's (99-00) are hard to find. the hatchbacks are just sorta freakish IMO.
