Need opinion
The dealer had to order both a front seal and rear seal for the car. Which is covered under warranty they said no damage is done to the clutch and I still have about 40% left on the clutch.
I am leaning toward having him put a new one in which would cost $724.00 minus a $250 credit I have from the dealership.
Or do I gamble and keep the existing clutch knowing that in probably 40k miles I might need one ? There will be no labor cost since the seals are being done.
What does everyone think ?

Good question. I would need to ask but then Im sure that's even more money for something I wasn't even planning on replacing. I would have to find out what it does to the extended warranty as well.

that include the bearings, flywheel, disc and plate ? The problem is if something goes wrong which party takes responsibility ?
If it was out of warranty and i was paying for everything then I'd consider SOS.

Actually the extended warranty covers a few items for failure. The pilot bearing and Flywheel.
Not only that but if something else fails which party fixes it ? Now if honda has an upgraded clutch that would fine.

I may be wrong on this, but it was my understanding that the stock AP2 clutch usually fails due to the pressure plate being weak. So when the clutch disk gets thinner the pressure plate is not strong enough to squeeze the disc hard enough to prevent slips. It seems like most slipping AP2 clutches Ive seen have about 25-30 percent left on them, but were slipping quite a bit.
If my info is correct I would in no way pass up this opportunity to have a clutch installed without labor. I see no reason why they wouldn't install an aftermarket clutch, but I'm a reasonable guy and not a dealership service adviser.
Tell them you want the stock clutch but want it at Majestic Honda prices which will shave 30% off that price plus your credit. When they say no remind them about the other problems and tell them how understanding you have been.

For Majestic Honda, Are you referring to this link ?
http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/auto/j...catcgry5=CLUTCH
If so the Total after their price is $591.00 + $35 for shipping but I do not see the throw out bearing. Is that part of one of those line items or i need to add a separate line item for that ?
Thanks for the excellent advice.
