Newbie Question
Alright im probably gonna get ripped on this one but im gonna ask anyways.
So im going to Fun In The Sun and I didn't have time to wash my car so after work in a few hours i'm gonna go to a car wash. The obvious would be to go to a hand car wash but besides that what should I be aware of when they wash it.
Can they wash the soft top or should i tell them only the bottom half of the car?
Ive never owned a nice enough car so i usually just went through the $5 automatic carwashes so im a newbie on car washing. Any help would be appreciated.

Honda clearcoats are notoriously fragile. I don't recommend using drive thru washes unless totally necessary. They WILL damage your finish over time. If it's just like once a year or whatever just try to use touchless. Don't worry about the top. It's tougher than the paint lol.
Nah... I disagree. I've done paint and body work on my S and the clear coat is not "fagile" at all.
There should not be any problem having the car wash peeps wash your car - as far as damage goes. You won't get the level of detail that you could expect from a pot of coffee and a few hours on a weekend - especially at the wheels and fenders, but if your car is real dirty, the car wash peeps can help you get to a decent point. The top canvass is very tough. To get it real clean, one would use a brush and soap anyway.
Just get the standard wash and don't do any special spray on waxes and you should be fine.
Once you get it back, detail the fender wells and wheels - then apply a protectant to the tires and top using a towel. Don't spray the protectant directly on the top as it will cause spotting because of the spray globs. Spray on to a soft towel and rub into the top and rub off the excess.
