Congratulations! Let me know when you decide to track because I would love to see it in action.

Make sure you send updates of your trip.

I'd be willing to donate to the sticky tire fund, what size tires does it take anyway

Wow, congrats! That is basically an end game car. I don't think it can get much better.

How does insurance work? I thought I heard someone saying most, if any, insurance company will not insure the Atom. Would you have to insure it as a kit car?

Insurance won't be hard, Insurance companies will insure anything for a monthly payment lol. Getting a loan through a bank to finance one of these is the larger hurdle.

Not sure on how it is insured but grundy might be an option as well. I have my BMW 2002 insured with them and it was quite a bit cheaper than hagerty. I'm guessing its not collector insurance though.

Amazing! So you're going to use the Atom as a car? So it is street legal? I've read varying opinions on the subject. I applaud your choice to drive it home. There aren't too many so called enthusiasts (myself included) that would commit to that kind of trip in an Atom. That's seriously hard core right there!

I would love to do a drive like that in something like an atom. Think of all the amazing looks you would get wearing your helmet blasting along in that thing!

Any idea what kind of mileage they get? It is probably pretty good since its so light and only a 4cyl. I cannot wait to see this thing in person.

When I priced out insurance for the Atom I was looking at, it was insured differently from a normal vehicle, because it is a kit car. It came out to like $60 a month through USAA
