The Comptech kit is now available with an aftercooler. I'm leery about the Vortech kit after Wil got stranded in Greer (oil leak from a brass fitting).

I know it's available but it's not included in the base kit. Buying the kit is $ lot more then just getting the Vortech.
The polished voretch is $5,959.95 and the comptech w/ aftercooler is $5995.00.

Forget retail pricing, nobody pays retail on that stuff. Look up GB pricing on Comptech and Vortech and you'll see the difference. I use to sell this stuff for BP, you can get bigger breaks on Vortech then Comptech.

Really as long as you dont throw any codes than modifying really anthing on your car should be fine.... they just plug the computer in your little hole there and if everything checks out you're good to go....

True, but if you run anything with a standalone ECU, which most guys with turbos have to do. You won't past the plug in test.

Correct. If you decide to go Turbo I only recommend going ems or even high boost supercharger I highly recommend only EMS. And naturally if you get a standalone your hole will not register anything at all.

If you want to do something that no one will notice then do the gears... you'll be quite a bit faster, but on the az freeways 80 might be up there in the rpms.

if you want to spend 5K... go with the vortech or the comptehc.. both are reliable kits.

Speaking of which.. T-Pwr whats your mod list like now?

Less than 10 HP. Biggest gain would probably be from the weight loss on getting rid of the stock exhaust. Stock exhaust weighs 50-55 lbs, while the heaviest single is ~20 lbs. and the lightest titanium single is ~12 lbs. Save your money for a supercharger if you really want to add power.
The lightest exhaust is about 8 lbs.

wow... are you running a gasket on that??? same compression ratio? I thought you wer turboed this whole time... i wonder what gave me that idea did you do all the mods at once? or did you do it peice by peice... cuz i was wondering about the lightweight pulleys and the cam/gears combo... did they make big difference?

whats the inital dyno results?? past 230whp yet???

I was at 235hp without the Ballistic head and cam gears. The compression ratio will be raised a little forgot what it is, I'll have to find out.

The lightweight pulleys don't really give you much if anything. The cams gave me a little but will be more worthwhile with the cam gears. This go around is the head work and cam gears with tuning. The 235 is without that stuff.
