Default radar-laser jammers... do they work?

We all know that adot needs to make a highway lane without a speed limit exclusively for S2000's. We can all agree on that.
but until they do, I'm wondering about jamming radar and laser. and does it work?

please discuss!

My first question would be is it legal to do radar and laser jamming in AZ? What about other states?

And I'll vote for the no speed limit lane, especially on straight roads like I-10 and several other "freeways".

What ever happend to the proposed 85 mph limit in Texas?

Radar Jammers are illegal, and they don't work anyway.
Laser Jammers are legal and they do work if they are top of the line.
Most cops in Arizona still use Radar...

Laser jammers might be legal in most states, including Arizona, but be careful in California, where there are not. I'm currently reading Radar Roy's free e-book, which looks like it could be recommended for any driver.

Weather it is legal or not.. That is the first thing to get jammed under the seat if and when in have ever been stopped!

If I were to spend money on a device to avoid speeding tickets it would be on a Valentine1 though... People swear by them.

Yes it does work! I just moved here from GA and I checked before I left and it said they were legal here I believe. I have the TOP Radar/Laser/Speed camera/Redlight camera detector in my car. I've had it in my car for over a year now. They do work and it does jam their guns. The police use the Ka band. When I see that go off I slow down and MOST of the time it's a cop coming from a good distance away, behind me, or just sitting there. It does spot them before they spot you. I'm 100% confident in my device. It's not mounted but actually installed in my car. I have two laser jammer devices installed in my front bumper and one on my back license plate. Here's what I have in my S2K: http://www.radardetector.org/reviews...tector-review/

In AZ Radar Jammers are illegal under federal law, but not state law. It is regulated by the FCC.

In AZ Laser jammers are legal apparently because lasers are regulated by the FDA.

US Federal Law prohibits the use of radar jammers.

Source: FCC Public Notice DA 96-2040

Radar Jammers are transmitters tuned to interfere with ("jam") a radar signal. The intentional use of jammers is considered "malicious interference" and is strictly prohibited by the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, as well as by FCC Rules. Anyone using a jammer risks such penalties as losing an FCC license, paying a fine, or criminal prosecution.

The Communications Act of 1934 states:

Sec. 333. Willful or malicious interference. No person shall willfully or maliciously interfere with or cause interference to any radio communications of any station licensed or authorized by or under this Act or operated by the United States Government.

(June 19, 1934, ch. 652, title III, Sec. 333, as added Pub. L. 101-396, Sec. 9, Sept. 28, 1990, 104 Stat. 850.)

Sec. 501. General penalty

Any person who willfully and knowingly does or causes or suffers to be done any act, matter, or thing, in this chapter prohibited or declared to be unlawful, or who willfully and knowingly omits or fails to do any act, matter, or thing in this chapter required to be done, or willfully and knowingly causes or suffers such omission or failure, shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished for such offense, for which no penalty (other than a forfeiture) is provided in this chapter, by a fine of not more than $10,000 or by imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year, or both; except that any person, having been once convicted of an offense punishable under this section, who is subsequently convicted of violating any provision of this chapter punishable under this section, shall be punished by a fine of not more than $10,000 or by imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years, or both.

(June 19, 1934, ch. 652, title V, Sec. 501, 48 Stat. 1100; Mar. 23, 1954, ch. 104, 68 Stat. 30.)

Sec. 510. Forfeiture of communications devices

(a) Violation with willful and knowing intent

Any electronic, electromagnetic, radio frequency, or similar device, or component thereof, used, sent, carried, manufactured, assembled, possessed, offered for sale, sold, or advertised with willful and knowing intent to violate section 301 or 302a of this title, or rules prescribed by the Commission under such sections, may be seized and forfeited to the United States.

Thanks for clearin that up, Sheriff.
I was pretty curious too, have been contemplating picking up either a:

https://www.beltronics.com/store/gx-65.html

or a

http://www.escortradar.com/passport9500ix-details.php

The ones that are higher performance than these seem to be in the $1,500 range and need to be installed.. Ehhhh. And you can find the ones above more in the $300 range if you shop around.

A typical speeding ticket will cost ~$200, the effect on your insurance will probably be $20 at most per month for at most 3 years.
So... ~$900 in the long run worst case.

Depending on how often you plan on buying tickets from your local policeman, may be a wise investment. Or waste of money.
