Regarding wrapping my s2k
Hey guys, just got a question for those who have wrapped their car. I'm looking to get my car wrapped, I've got the infamous AZ rock chips on my front bumper/hood, how will the affect the wrap? Will it just go over it and remain in tact or will it just flake off immediately? Thanks to all who answer
A few of us have 3M film on their cars. I've had mine for 8 years and still in fairly good shape. I've warped 3 cars I've owned with different amounts of 3M. More than paid for itself over the years. Definitely protects against road pitting on AZ roads. Key to quality is the product and the installation. I used 3M and their new films are superior to most. Their are other cheaper choices though. Like anything proper care gives the film a lasting quality. Fairly easy to maintain and keep clean. I love having it for the track.
Contact Robbie Williams at Protective Film Solutions at Robbie@ProtectiveFilmSolutions.com. He can answer a lot of on product choice, installation, and cost. Tell him I referred you.
BTW - The film offers semi-permanent paint protection. Quality film doesn't flake off.

I have had my car wrapped in gloss metallic vinyl for a little over a year now. I had the usual rock chips, and a small door ding in my passenger door. The wrap covered up all of the chips flawlessly, and actually made the door ding MUCH less noticable.
I do not daily my car though, I am not sure I would recommend wrapping your car if you daily or track it. For the gloss at least you have to be very careful washing it, and wax it regularly or you will get scratches. It shows swirl marks from say a California Duster a lot more than a paint job would. That being said I am really anal about my car and any scratch is cause for a temporary meltdown
lol
I know that the flat wraps are much easier to care for and I think maybe a little more durable. If you're someone that wants to wrap your car so you can change the color easily and have the funds to do so, go for it. If you want to keep it on there for a long time and have the money to get it painted, I would just paint it.
