An s2000 CAN drift
besides, tell me you went out your first time, and linked every corner flawlessly? didn't think so
and as far as the angle, i got decent, but everytime i got tons i would spin. i could feel the front wheels screwing with me which would always end with a spin by then. i was still trying to dial in my pressures. i missed out on 3 trips out because of having to leave for shop business. all in all, i did pretty f#$%$ing good for a first timer. i'd like to see you first time.

just went through all the pics you posted. there isn't a single shot of me. how would you know angle? cause your buddies? hmmm. i personally wouldn't comment unless I was there.
i am getting a vid up as we speak. i know my biggest problem is line. only one time did i feel i didn't have the power. i rode alot with our other guys as well to try and get it down but none of their lines seem to work since they go too slow or they have more tq. but here it goes

after going through my camera, i am voting Pat as the worst camera man ever. got 2 videos, and he seemed more interested in the chick in her miata (he also drives the blue miata) as you will see. these were my 5th and 7th runs of the day. still trying to get my tire pressures from dialed in as well as find a line that worked. he missed my 6th run, which was spin free. here goes
2 vids of me- not my best runs...

i need to borrow a camera mount next time. those were the only 2 vids he got of me
.
some pics and a vid of pat

heres the problems i noticed with the steering. if i get past a certain angle, i can turn the front wheels to full lock and it doesn''t feel like it turns them anymore. other times if i get great angle i would slow down a little bit (around 40 mph) and the front wheels would increase angle screwing with me more) the last problem i found was a lack of response all together. i would flick the wheel and it would almost not respond. once i started to throw the wheel was when it would respond and act like a normal car. i don't know wexactly how to explain that one. almost like it would wait for me to do what the front tires wanted to do, before going with it. these were the problems in more detail that i noticed. if i went fast enough to not feel the angles change, i wouldn't get enough angle out of the front wheels. if i went too slow, i couldn't link shit. still working on getting it down. in for the next event fo sho.
and let the sideline complaints continue

photobucket hosts vids.
edit: anyone know of a way to disable the eps without losing the power steering part of it?

there try reading that... the electronic steering is and always has been an issue.. if you want to stick up for your buddy go for it.. I didn't make a post trying to call people out saying it takes skills.. it can be done.. I did it.. when people at the event were talking about how the s2ks out there just got tail happy at the exit of the turn.. suspension can be setup for drift or grip.. i am sure that car was not setup for grip only to do that d1 event.. but hey.. if any1 can slap in coilovers and suspension parts like you every1 will have a time attack/drift car..
i swear some s2000 owners are just idiots when it comes to motorsport
oh here is a ariticle that a website did about that demo..
2006 westcoast shotout...
i am all for the s2000 getting up in the drift scene.. but unless there is a fix for some of the issue that people are having with the s2000 drifting it wont be big in the scene... issues that professional drifters cant even over come.. yes you can build a car like RSR.. AEM.. ASM to use for drifting.. but thats a huge project.. for the daily grinders like us its not in our sights yet..
i was on here awhile back with the pipe dream of drifting a s2k.. but to build a car like the RSR car is not within my budget and is a task 2 huge for me..
