I just sat down with pat and watched the vids, and we plotted a line that I will need to try next time. i am taking the shortest way through the course (the vids show it) and thats my problem. if I tried a different line, i would be set up better for the next turn. i may be able to link 3-4. pat says he didn't link all until his 3rd time out. I know I can get it down. I just need to get the eps disabled in a way i still get full angle and power steering.

Just ditch the whole rack and swap it out for a manual one.

Yeah I don't think you are going to be able to get rid of the EPS, and keep power steering ( thats what it is). A thought would be to just try it without power steering ( my teg never had power steering, and it's not that bad when you get used to it). You should be able to just pull a fuse and disable it, at least that's how it is in the NSX, but I haven't ried on the S2K.

To Wade:
It looked ok, but you get props from me cause I know how hard it is to drift an S, and how retardedly easy it is to drift a 240 (I own both). And the fact that you were not using your e-brake to drift, SUPER PROPS, especially on your first time out. With all that in context, you did a phenomenal job, and every s2000 owner should say, "good job."

To Roger:
(I think I can put your internet name to your face, your the one witht the red s2k with hardtop right). Anyways, I understand that you have an opinion, but you go to the same meets that we all go to, and this is a cool community, and even if the "drift" wasn't as D1 style as you would consider a perfect drift, but at least give the guy some props. And becareful of "E-thugs" cause if I was Wade I would be bringing 2 pair of boxing gloves to every meet just in the anticipation of you showing up so that I could be the shyte out of you in a boxing/kick-boxing match. You can talk smack online, but its kinda hard to back it up in the real world. Just a rule of thumb, don't say anything online that you would not say to the persons face...

Just my .02 cents

Good job Waid Let me know next time you go out there, I've got some spare tires to waste and it would be a good laugh to go out there and have fun.

P.S. Some of you guys are taking Roger too seriously. I can see where he's coming from, but I wouldn't take that tactic to call out Wade. Actually, I wouldn't call Wade out on anything since he knows he's not at a pro level and he's just starting. Roger did tell him good job, and he told him he did great for trying to drift the s2000. But no way is he going to get as much angle as the FC, especially on his first time out in a stock car.

The good thing is that you had fun and I bet you learned a lot of car control from being out there for just a day. Keep at it and you will slowly realize what you need to do as a driver and how you should set up your car to get better.

Interesting topic: I wonder if disabling the EPS, would the S perform just like a car without power steering?

I assume the heavier steering would be the first noticeable difference, but if it would perform more like a car without power steering rather than a car with EPS that's just disconnected which may be an better fit for drifting.

I do know on other EPS systems(Toyota, GM)there’re different settings that may be applied as most systems are software based but unfortunately not available for the S in my searches.

Good job Wade, I have attempted drifting in a few cars I've owed over the years(240’s S13 & S14, M3 and even my Z06)and can confirm to drift well it’s a lot of hours and work and for me it never came easy. The only advise I would share is that it’s all in how your car is set up. Ton's of camber/caster, very little play in your suspension and the proper tires to start the list of necessary things to be successful and have fun without damaging your car severely.

Keep it up regardless, there will always be haters.

+1. as stated before, i am onnly doing this for fun. i am NOT going to hack in a nother rack. I am NOT going to do different alignment or suspension. all stock, just mess with the tires. I found the right pressures. I just need to get my line dialed in then fine tune the pressures to work for it. in the 2 videos you saw i had 60 psi of rear tire pressure to start feeling around for where they like it. i started at 53, it shot up to 60, i let it down to 45, it went up to 50. I finally got the pressures to be consistant after going lower right after m 2nd run ( i only did sets of 4 to let the car cool) and it would stay after that

maybe my approach was not th right way.. i am sorry for that.. like i said the cookie thing was a joke... there was no need to talk about my attitude..

wade those cars that get those angles arent fully built cars.. i worked at a shop and built drift cars.. you will have angle issues unless you ditch the EPS crap..
