I think you can peice together a turbo kit for like 5K with all fuel management... you just ahve to be patient
Yea but the tune takes significantly more work on the turbo, so add that into the cost. The SCs are pretty much plug-and-play.

Well thanks for everyones two cents. I guess I'll have to do some research and weigh out the options and see which one will better suite me.

if you want your car to explode......you still need to tune the AFR, my comptech was super super lean when we dyno'd it.

Doesn't the ECU handle that?

From what I've seen so far, it seems putting together a turbo kit yourself would come out cheaper than a Comptech SC.

Am I wrong George?
It all depends what you want, fab. vs. kit, size of turbo, non bb turbo vs. bb turbo, type ems, mani, size, type of pipe, brand, size of w/g, bov, inj., fuel pump, reg., gauges, exhaust, single, dual, size, brand, jet coating, polishing, labor, tuning, dyno, ect, ect. Next, do want to run low boost on stock motor, turn it up with h/g, built the bottom and head, upgrade your clutch, diff. axles, fuel line, cage, ect. I know i missed a few things but this is just an idea what to expect if you go the turbo route. I knew what i was getting into when i started this project and Brett's time and workmanship has gone beyond my expectations. My goal is 500+whp(max.600whp. gt3040r) then i'll upgrade to a gt35/gt40, one step at a time, diff. is next now that i have the Laskey rebuilt.

To be honest I would be completely satisfied with just over 300 whp. If I would go the turbo route I would use a BB turbo GT series something small quick spooling. I would use my existing emange for tuning.

I guess I'll just have to start pricing pieces out to get and idea of parts cost.

Gt30r what manifold are you running? I have looked at the lovefab mini which looks like a good piece.
