How much do gears cost ? So maybe not top speed but 0-60 is better then ?

With gears you'll leave the line easier but won't be faster once outta 1st gear.

Take the lid off your stock airbox, best bang for the buck evar! 0 hp gain. Then testpipe. Slightly better hp gain.

watchdog, you strike me as a person that would not like gears. You are hyper-sensitive to every tiny abnormality your car has. Gears are prone to whining, you will get worse mileage, and you will be cruising around at high rpm's all the time. Gears definitely make the car feel more fun in traffic though.

You'll go thru the gears faster but not be faster with speed. You'll go thru the power band too quick and with the stock gears your in it longer.

The single best bang-for-the-buck mod is an HPDE track day

I would drive the car to the limit and see if you even need to mod it to begin with.

I just posted this thread to see if there was one item that noticed a considerable gain in hp other than Tubo/supercharger.

Sounds to me like Weight reduction would be a better approach, starting with things like Spare tire, jack, lighter wheels removing soft top etc
don't forget those heavy mufflers. you could shave 40lbs with just that

Electric exhaust cut out. Cost less and flows better than any exhaust you can buy, quiet when you want, open it after rolling you lose no low end n/a.
