Default Spark plug update campaign

Has anybody in the Phoenix area been able to have their spark plugs changed yet? I received my letter several days ago, but have been unable to find a dealer that is able to complete the work. Bell Honda had no idea what I was talking about and Showcase claims that the parts are unavailable.

To verify the parts availability, I called AHM and was told that in fact the parts are available. The case manager stated that the letters are not delivered to owners until the parts are made available to the dealers and the dealers should have proactively ordered these parts so they would be ready.

What is the true story?

Thanks

True story is that Showcase has parts on order. Darren Gaines, Service Manager, will contact walkabt as soon as they are here and available for installation.

My car is at Honda of Tempe right now for TSB - 054. I called and asked about the spark plugs and was told that they would check on it but didn't think they had the parts available yet.

I got my letter today, too...it's odd that the dealers don't already have the parts in stock. This can cause engine damage, right? Seems pretty important.

Honda of Tempe does have the spark plug update kits in stock. 14 of them I'm told (13 now). Mine will be done with TSB-054.

Thanks for the info about Arrowhead. Called them today, they were very helpful and have the parts in stock. I have an appointment scheduled for Friday. I thought Showcase was supposed to be the service department of choice for local S2000 owners, they seem to have dropped the ball on this and I worry about their responsiveness on any future issues as well.

Honda Cars of Mesa and Honda Service Center of Gilbert have parts as of 8/13/02. I was to have TSB completed today, however I am too busy with my wife's accord in the body shop.

Showcase has the parts in stock. Darren Gaines, service director, emailed me today.

I checked with Honda Service of Gilbert today and they said they did not have the parts, but could get them with a day's notice from Honda of Mesa. They also would not do it on a Saturday.

I am working with Showcase to check into Saturday appointments.

Also, Chad is coming back to Showcase effective Sept 1.
