IMHO, any of the areas outside the central core and the downtown areas of the suburbs is good.

The Ahwatukee area is always good. It is south of Tempe and Phoenix.

And sunscreen. In college I worked outside at a golf course, so my dermotologist guilted me into using spf 50. If you spend enough time in your car, it becomes pretty much the same thing. Don't waste your time with spf 15, the only thing you are getting there is psychological benefit.
