Default Who Makes This Stuff up?

Hello,

I have been looking at S2000's for the last 6 six or so years and I have always went after something else. I have had my fare share of cars. Ferrari, Porsche's, Z3 & Z4's but for the last two years I have went really hard looking for a S2000 mainly a 2002 White exterior and all red interior and dash. Rather than babbling on my question is.

Who is making up these so called prices on these S2000 cars? I see salvage cars selling for 10-13K and non salvage cars going for the exact same price with the same miles. I see AP2's with 160-190K miles for 14-20K while I see AP2 with less miles selling for the same price. I see AP1 selling for the same price as the AP2 with the same mileage. There is no happy medium here in pricing it's like people post there cars for sale and just make up a price without there *Being a True Rational Reasoning Behind The Price* For the people that don't get what I am saying is this. I see a NSX. I see the mileage. I see the year and the body. I am more than confident you and i can more than likely guesstimate the exact price almost down to several thousand dollars on a NSX but with and S2000 it seems like its just not possible. There are a lot of cars you can see and say yeah it's worth this much and be right.

I do understand certain models that are worth more like the CR. My neighbor has a blue one with a lotus and Bentley. I honestly don't know what is a good deal and what isn't being the pricing is all over regardless of year and title status.

Tristan, I apologize for the shitty grammar and punctuation.

Supply and demand. That and the fact that their owners think they're worth more than they actually are. You take a look at a CR going for 40k.. How I'm seeing the market now, AP1s 12-15k clean and lower mileage. AP2 v1 less than an ap1 usually. AP2 v2 and V3 16k-28k.
Come down to Miami it's the same thing.

We're seeing ASKING prices, not sales prices. Been at least one or two for sale here since May. Their asking prices are obviously too high. Cars like the CR are niche cars in a niche market. No convertible roof doesn't make it more valuable to me -- less, in fact.

I have seen only one 2009 for sale in my whole life and it was on ebay in 2013 and it was going for 38K. I remember correctly didn't they not build very many 2009's? 2008 models seem to be rare but pop up here and there and I tend to see them only on ebay and there typically going in the high 20's to low 30's.

08/09 are the exact same car. The only reason someone would value them higher is because of the later/last year of the production run.

There weren't a ton of 09's sold which is why they are scarce.

It's primarily because people think their beat up shith boxes are worth more then they really are. Rest assured the beat ones so not go for what they are asking. There are still nice ones out there that you will have to search for. There are also really overpriced ones that will make you scratch your head and sit for ages.

I totally agree sir.

I see a few now for 18-22K with high miles and I scratch my head. I just wish I had gotten a NSX instead of a Ferrari F355. The maintenance and such would have been a smarter choice not to mention the reliability of and nsx would have been a lot better in the end not leaving me stranded twice like the Ferrari did.

I want the blue CR looking one on craigslist but its salvage and at 13K That's to much for a car that the passenger side fender is way out of alignment and has massive gaps on the body from a prior accident.

What makes me literally laugh is the people saying no joy rides no tire kickers. You for real? Your selling a 10 year old Honda dude it's not a Ferrari or some specialty exotic car. Like these people think these cars are worthy of posting that. We where discussing this at the exotic car event with my friends on Saturday. They got a kick of the people posting that.

So you would let anyone just show up and test drive your car if you had it for sale? There are so many people out there that I wouldn't even let ride my bike let alone one of my cars...
