It's primarily because people think their beat up shith boxes are worth more then they really are. Rest assured the beat ones so not go for what they are asking. There are still nice ones out there that you will have to search for. There are also really overpriced ones that will make you scratch your head and sit for ages.
I totally agree sir.

I see a few now for 18-22K with high miles and I scratch my head. I just wish I had gotten a NSX instead of a Ferrari F355. The maintenance and such would have been a smarter choice not to mention the reliability of and nsx would have been a lot better in the end not leaving me stranded twice like the Ferrari did.

I want the blue CR looking one on craigslist but its salvage and at 13K That's to much for a car that the passenger side fender is way out of alignment and has massive gaps on the body from a prior accident.

What makes me literally laugh is the people saying no joy rides no tire kickers. You for real? Your selling a 10 year old Honda dude it's not a Ferrari or some specialty exotic car. Like these people think these cars are worthy of posting that. We where discussing this at the exotic car event with my friends on Saturday. They got a kick of the people posting that.
I can't tell if you're being serious, or if you're trolling. You're talking about being interested in buying a salvage title S2000 in one sentence, and then in the other talking about how shitty and old these cars are, and how over protective their owners are.

You have two very distinct demographics that are interested in S2000s these days and they really couldn't be more opposite. There is the younger crowd looking for the cheapest car they can get their hands on (Check out S2k Talk & Tech on Facebook) and there are the guys who have owned these cars for a very long time. Generally when a long time owner is selling a car he's not super interested in letting riffraff off the street come and test drive his car if they aren't serious. It doesn't seem like a difficult concept to grasp.

So why do you even want an S2000 if your speaking of it like it's a POS grocery getter car?

Don't misinterpret what I'm saying as if I'm "butthurt", im not. I myself just can't clearly understand if your being serious or not.

So you would let anyone just show up and test drive your car if you had it for sale? There are so many people out there that I wouldn't even let ride my bike let alone one of my cars...

I think that's a stretch, if you talk to someone and it's clear they aren't a douchebag kid that just wants to beat on the car it's a judgement call.

I struggle to call a F355 an exotic. It's in the same category as the 360... Just sad.

To the OP: I don't believe any of us know you. This is a relatively tight group of people that very seriously care for the S2000. It doesn't matter that it's a "10 yr old Honda". It's one of the best sports cars ever made, and that leans more towards fact than opinion. You come in here boasting your Ferrari bullshit like any of us actually care. We really don't. Do us all a favor and quit searching for an S2000, unless you can learn to be a humble human being and take your head out of your ass.

You can see I am not good at paraphrasing stuff. I did the talk to email and some stuff did not come out as stated.

1# You as a persons can sell your car as you please and not let who you please drive it. Honda is not a specialty car that is what I am saying. I am not saying the car is junk or garbage it's just not a specialty car. To say I will not let anyone drive it or whatever you discuss among the sale it ridiculous if you ask me. Not like people dream of a S2000 and sit there all day thinking I am going to go meet up with this guy and drive his car and walk away. Honda folks. There is no need to act like and ass like your car is worth some huge amount of dollars and your going attract people that want rides. Specialty cars are high end value cars that cost a lot to fix, Maintain and possibly high maintenance do you get what i am saying now? I am sorry if i offended anyone. Honda is a great car company just not a specialty car company that is what we all laugh about. You can sell and do whatever you please i was just stating my personal opinion.

2# I was speculating i want a S2000 like the blue one. Clean Cr Stuff and nice just without the salvage/rebuilt and gaps. That was a mistake on the talk to text. I am sorry.

3# 355 is like 360? Wrong. 355 was the second rendition of the Ferrari 348 the 360 Modena was a car on a whole new platform.
