Window Tint
Hey gang,
I am wanting to get the windows in my Spa tinted. My Maxima was just tinted with SolarGuard tint, looks nice but there is a slight "haze" in the tint (only way I can describe it), making the view not as clear as it would be if it were factory tinted.
Is anyone familiar with various brands and which one is the best for clarity as well as durability?
Anyone know a good/reasonably priced shop in Phoenix?
Thanks for any info!!

Hi JJ,
I can't think of anyone with tinting on their S2000. Gloffer has a dash cover, but I haven't seen anyone with tinting.
There is a shop in Tempe on Kyrene, just south of Baseline on the east side. It is about a block and a half south of the Osco drug store. A friend took his car there. It looks fine, but the aftermarket tinting I have seen doesn't always look as good or stay on as well as in the glass tinting. Of course aftermarket costs less than replacing your windows.
I have solar ray or something like that in my other car, it is built into the windows - making them look shiny and reflective but not dark. I like it because it keeps the car cool without too much loss of light at night. If you see something that appears reflective when researching let me know.

Bluescreen has his windows tinted -- not sure where. I've had two cars done at Scottsdale Acura -- competitively priced, immaculate job, very happy. If you do it when the car is new (at least on an Acura, but maybe Honda also) the tint is covered by the factory car warranty.

I had my sides done at Star Windshield in Chandler. Not reflective, but high quality tint and very professionally installed. If anybody wants to check it out to see if it's what you're looking for, just shoot me a private message.

Well guys if you would like to get together and too see everyones tint and cars then you should check this thread out. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...&threadid=41102
I had mine done with the top grade of Forumula One (how could I resist that name!) tinting film. It also has that slightly hazy aspect that you mentioned, but that's been the case with every tint I've ever had regardless of brand or installer.

My 2 pieces of copper,

I had mine done at AutoTint. They did an excellent job and I don't notice any "haze" in the film, which was (I think) SolarGard. It cost $60 for the two side windows but that was Jan 2000 so the price may have changed by now. It still looks great two years later. I'd recommend them. I think there are several in the valley.
