If you need the tire taken off I know how to use the tire machines on base, I can help ya get it off.
Maybe you can help me get the tires off my second set of wheels. Hoping to get them powdercoated soon.

Well it doesn't have a happy ending but I'll give you my review on the wheel repair service in case anyone else is in need of a fix!

The guy was prompt on timing and knows his stuff on how to fix rims. I was warned ahead of time tho that after market rims aren't as strong as factory and have a tendency to crack when getting straigtened. He heated the rim up to help with the bending, started applying pressure to straighten the barrel out and *CRACK*. There went my rim :/ He has a place he sends the rims out to be fixed if they're cracked but he said I'd be looking at around $160 to have the crack fixed.... just to have a rim straightened he charges $100. The rim isn't worth enough so looks like I'm in the market for a new set.

If you have factory rims that need straightening, I'd recommend him. He has the equipment and know how and drives to where you're located. If you have aftermarket rims, depending on the quality, I'd be worried about them cracking like mine did :/

So anyone know how to make some cool barstools or something out of rims?!

motempo, sure thing let me know when ya want to do it. The shop charges like $3 per wheel of something for use of the machine but the labor will be free. I have a car that can fit 4 wheels so I could pick ya up whenever

Sorry to hear about the wheel cracking... I'm no expert, but I'm surprised your wheel cracked... I also think there might have been some error on part of the repairer. What kind of wheels are you looking at getting?

I know many people who work at wheel repair places, and i used to work at NTB and we would not fix barrels because of things exactly like this.

I guess I could see this happening with a cheaply made cast wheel, but I've seen them do amazing things with a high quality forged wheel in much worse shape...
