Default Car Audio Question!

Ok, so lets begin with last saturday i decided to install my JL 6.5 csi. When i took apart the door and pulled out the other speaker mine wouldnt fix. The woofer was completely to big to make the circle. So i did some modifing and Rigged it to work. Well once everything was installed i noticed my right tweeter wasn't working so i put back in the factory. Well today on the way home now the left one isnt working.

Keep in mind these are 400 plus dollar speakers that i have never had any problem out of. Kinda clueless on that.

Now all of that to ask. Are our door speakers 5 1/4 or 6 1/2? I was going to buy some new ones and as well as the holders for the door and i dont want to waste the money. Everywhere i have looked at, they say are 6 1/2 but there is no way my old ones were going to fit. Plus the ones in the door i'm almost 100 precent sure are 5 1/4.

Any help would be appreciated and if anyone has any speakers for sell hit me up.

Thanks

(Sorry for any grammar mistakes, Im only human)

They are 6 1/2 but they are pretty shallow so some 6 1/2 won't fit. I helped Ryan (racin_guy21) install some a few weeks ago. We did have to modify the basket though.

100% correct!!! Our door speakers are 6 1/2. To make most component 6 1/2 speakers fit and sound at there best, you would need a spacer for the speaker.

On a side note, infinity kappa component set i believe fits without a spacer.

I think the Kappas are too deep, at least the info at Best Buy says they are (believe what you will about that).

I KNOW for sure these fit b/c we put them in Ryan's car.
Infinity Reference 6.5"

We did have to cut the factory speaker basket b/c the speakers were a little deep, but it was mostly b/c we had problems with mounting holes on the speaker lining up with the door holes.

Yep 6.5, and My Polk's came with their own baskets and there was no mounting issue. I would assume if it was said to fit the S2k, they should have come with the necessary hardware to do so.
