Default New Orleans Hotspots (for Locals)

I'm heading out to New Orleans next month for a few days and was looking for a few places to visit... I'll be staying in the French Quarter so I'd like to check out some places that are somewhat walking distance.

Thanks in advance!!!

the river walk is always nice to visit.
check out bourbon if you've never been, it's definitely an experience to behold
if you do a quick search about any festivals during the week of your stay, i'm sure there's something going on
not to mention aquarium of the americas and the insectarium
d day museum is an awesome place to visit
and harrah's casino

hope that helps

You staying dead smack in the middle of the hotspot !!! Tons of restaurants. Mr.B's, DRAGOS, GW Fins are some of the places I like. There is a event called Wedsnday at the sqaure u should check out if ur here on Weds. Hotspots for nightlife Metro, JAX, and Masquerade in Harrahs casino. And of course bourbon st for a random fun time. Enjoy ur stay !

Any good breakfast diners? Brunch? And of course music..... I've heard a variety of different opinions on music. Where is a good place?

Thanks again everyone for the great advice. Aquarium has been recommended. Harrahs has. And GW Fins has been mentioned too

I'm there 7th to 11th of June (I think).

Mother's on Poydras is a popular place for breakfast.
Court of Two Sisters is popular for brunch.
Frenchman St has a lot of live music such as jazz.
