If you like HTC, they've got what looks to be a real "best in Droid class" contender coming out sometime early next year. You may have noticed the link I posted a page or two back. http://phandroid.com/2010/08/27/new-htc-de...-the-htc-merge/ and http://phandroid.com/2010/09/06/verizons-4...kes-on-the-fcc/

This bad boy is reported to be outfitted with a 1.2 GHz processor (currently faster than any other handset within the Verizon lineup I believe), a 4" screen, and a physical QWERTY keyboard!

If you liked the screen size of the Fascinate, then this may be a possibility for you as well.

Of course, there is always the Incredible if you think the 2011 first quarter is entirely too long to wait!
Both look cool IMO. However, not a fan of the real QWERTY keyboard. Since I transitioned to smartphone all i've ever had was virtual keyboards and I love them, also reduces the weight of the phone IMO. It's one reason I went with the Eris over the Moto Droid during my first gen choices.

Now having played with both the X, Incredible, and Fascinate. The real droids appeal to me more than the Fascinate. I personally like the HTC platform better. The Fascinate does not have the speed the X and Incredible have. Just in my limited time playing with the phone. We'll see whats in store for early 2011 though. If nothing withing the first couple months of 2011 I'll likely end up with the Incredible.... really love that phone.

Andy have you tried rooting your droid? It would bring a little of extra fun to the device.
Bobby, no, when it comes to all the technical Jargon I have no clue about it. I have heard the term "rooting" but know nothing about what it consists of or will do for the phone.

Enlighten me, Jedi Master

Speaking of rooting, I've not rooted my Droid either. I've done a pretty healthy amount of reading in regards to it, but I've yet to read anything (aside from over clocking) that seems to be advantageous in doing so.

I know that you can customize your phone with different ROMS and what not, but if I'm pretty happy with the vanilla Droid interface, is that really necessary? The only thing I've done that's even a little "techy" is push the OTA updates through, several weeks in advance (before their official release).

I've also found an app called Launcher Pro that adds a few nifty features to the Droid, that are not available with the completely stock rig, such as the option to roll with 7 home screens (like on your Eris Andy), and a few Launcher Pro specific widgets.

I have to agree that HTC's Sense-UI is a very nice setup, and unless Moto comes out with something completely groundbreaking before the release of the next HTC handset, I feel certain I'll head their direction.

Yea Flannery nailed it on the head not excitingly to much but I do not they have custom roms and such you can do. I havent really seen what else you can do since jailbreaking the iPhone gives you alot more things to do. I do know however that overclocking is awesome on the Droid and can really bring the OS to life as well as well..drain the battery some.

Very much so. I would be inclined to try. However, Sony has a problem with charging out the a$$ for there content. I also think its funny how they dog the iphone saying it will never be a gaming machine yet the are possibly designing a phone like that
