I think its a good idea. I've already agreed to help Michael with his brake fluid and pads. We can use my house as a backup if Bobby's isn't finished. Now is a good time to order your brake fluid and other goodies that you can't get locally. I also got a 2007 Helm's manual for Christmas that could come in handy. Now is a good time to also check your tires and order if needed.

i will prolly order tires as soon as i get my car back. which should be this thurs. only thing i am looking at is to put good tires on stock rims, or good tires on my weds. either way i want to have the nitto nt01s on either.

FYI.....The Drivers Edge doesnt allow novice track drivers to run R compound tires until signed off solo. That appears to be a new rule for 2007. I'd get a set of the Arzenias like Anthony or stock Bridgestone and wear them out first. By that time you might be able to use the R compound on the track. Check out TDE website.

Yes they made it very clear that no one in the novice class would be allowed to run R compounds in '07. In the long run it will benefit the driver.

Good choice.....bc if you tried to run R compound tires with stock brake pads, youd absolutely smoke them. Get some new tires, change out your brake fluid.....even new DOT 3 is ok for first time, and make sure you have decent thickness on your brake pads.

The upgrade path is.....
1) new fluid and pads
2) track pads
3) I/H/E anytime along the way
4) R compound tires on some track dedicated wheels (btw Nitto would be great here cause they are DOT approved and street legal to drive to track on).
5) maybe FI
6) roll cage or bolted on hard top
7) completely strip the car and make it a dedicated track car.
8) Get a pickup and trailer to tow your track car.
9) Get new sports car since you only have track car now.
