Default 2.2 litre in Japan ?????

Just curious if Japan get the option of the 2.2 litre S2000 ????

As it is never coming to Europe then I thought it might be quite interesting to import one to the UK.

If there is a 2.2, what sort of prices are they new in Japan ?

Thanks

Ryan

Europe will be receiving the 2.2.....once honda have used up all F20C supplies. Unlucky for you, Honda Europe have been used as a dumping ground for their "old" engine.

Well, if you go to the Honda Japan web site, you will get your answer. Here is a link:

http://www.honda.co.jp/auto-lineup/s2000/g...data/index.html

You don't have to be able to read Japanese to notice the "F20C", followed by "DOHC" and "1,997". And since there is only one entry, it would appear there were no optional engine sizes offered in Japan. I don't read Japanese, but I was able to guess that those refer to the engine.

We cannot choise the 2.2Litter engine.
The 04 model in Japan has only 2.0Litter F20C engine (130-type).

The 2.2L was only offered for the American market, to combat their main complaint for the lack of torque in the F20C. This complaint is probably a world-wide one, but none moreso than in the USA I presume, seeing as most of their cars have relatively big engines. Australian Honda apparently considered having the 2.2L engine in our 04' S2K, but that obviously never eventuated.

Not that I'm saying I'd prefer the 2.2L to the 2.0L engine, its just that it would be nice to have a choice.

Forget the 2.2........Honda made this engine to settle all the fat american's complaints about torque eventhough the car was already fine.....How many cars can produce the performance that the 2.0 can? Legally!!! Honda first engineered this car to have this set up and I am glad to have my 2.0 in my 02 why? because it is just so unique from all other engines out there. the torque difference is nothing to make me want a 2.2 and be closer to the rest of the group.....by the way I'm american and completely disagree with the 2.2.
