Japanese parts.. in Japan
Just curious about pricing there in Japan.. if it's significantly cheaper to buy parts there or is it the same. Im looking to get a Mugen FRP HT and WORK wheels soon here in the states, but if it's gonna save me an arm and a leg just getting it there in Japan, I'll just wait till I get there (sometime next year). By the way, I'll be in Okinawa... would shipping prices be like shipping to the states from mainland Japan? or do you know if parts are also abundant in Okinawa as well. Thanks in advance.

I've been in Japan 3 times now shopping at Upgarage and Super Autobacs each time I was there. However I was shopping for my old car which was a Mazda Protege at the time. Parts can be expensive brand new, but there are an abundance of used parts shops. Unfortunately I've never been to Okinawa so I don't know how the scene is out there. From what I remember brand new prices seem to be slightly more. And with the exchange rate the way it is you will be spending quite a bit. I suggest hitting the used stores, you might find some rare wheels or other parts. They tend to be cheaper.
