Thanks for the tips...I thought I would have enough time to play but only have about day an a half but went out to play a little, work a lot. Didn't get a chance to see too many cars. Didn't see 1 S at all. Saw a few Skylines, BMW and Porsche. Very expensive here, costing me about 150 USD to commute and eat per day practically.

don't exaggerate...

mcdonalds is pretty cheap in Japan or have you been visiting some of the very nice bars here.

best to try and get set meals for lunch..typically 1000yen and you get some good stuff..then go for a smaller dinner, one dish 1000-2000yen. Breakfast from the 7Eleven...all for under $50 per day.

McDonalds cheap?? LOL
Shoot, my bic mac combo was like 660yen (roughly $6). Compare that with our $3.79...hehe

But yea I agree with food and transportation being around $50 a day. As long as you dont take no taxis.

if you like drinking...best concept in Japan (which would never work in other countries) is time based drinking.

last night we had dinner with the boys from work...nice big Japanese meal..and all you can drink in 90mins. ~ 4000yen

Agreed, McD's is cheap. I was getting room service a lot, Century Hyatt in Shinjuku, wasn't that great but since I was working a lot it was the easiest.

When I finally had the oppt to look around found some great places to eat for under 1000 yen.

For lunch and some late dinners got some prepared meal from the Family Mart and Lawsons for cheap and was better than the hotel food.

Trip was cover by company so $ wasn't too much of a concern.

Wish I had more time to visit though. What I notice is I didn't see any police until I went shopping in Shinjuku.

Only had time to go to Roppongi and Ginza. Look around Kawaguchi a bit.

Just arrived home yesterday...great experience!

To add to the McD's comment, yeah, cheap for Tokyo but compare to here US is cheaper.

Kobe - too bad I did't know about that...could have had more Kirin

AP2kyle - how long we're you there for? Yeah, I had to use Taxi from Nishi-Kawaguchi to get to work so it added up for transportion. One night I didn't leave until 1am so had to cab back from Nishi-Kaw to Shinjuku, about 9100 yen.

I was there for a week. Used only subways, JR lines and my feet. Never was so glad to see vending machines! Yea, if you stay out late, taxi is the only way, and its freakin expensive. However, from what i've heard, tokyo taxi's are the nicest and cleanest around! lol
