Aston Martin V8 Vantage
Hey guys, went for a spin in an Aston Martin V8 vantage last night.
What a machine!!!
The quality of the interior is amazing, the shape of the car is one of the best looking cars on the road I think. This particular one was pearl white with gun metal grey 19 inch wheels and the combo looked stunning.
I thought S2000's have great lights... these are amazing HIDs.
The car itself does not stir as much emotion as a Ferrari does for me personally, but going for a spin provided very good argument that this car is a great piece of gear.
The car felt as light as my s2000, and was very firm about 20% more than an s2k.
It has this exhaust butterfly, that opens up at 4000rpm, and it has to be one of the meanest sounds ever. Redlines at 7500rpm and it gets down and boogies!!!
Awesome experience that I thought Id share.
P.S absolutely dying without my car.

Tailed a black one in Perth the other weekend.
Even at low speed the sound is simply sensational. Dude also gave it a good squirt for me to hear it on full throttle.
My next car..........

Yeah it felt like my s2k with coilovers on medium setting. And thats pretty rock hard, its targetted towards the cashed up boy racer, the softer guys get a vanquish.

would you guys class this as a "super car" ?
definitely a great alternative to a Ferrari . You could drive it everyday and not attract the sort of attention a Gallardo or Ferrari would , but would still get heaps of street cred . The modern Aston's look sick IMO .

To own a Ferrari or Lamborghini, you need stupid amounts of cash. I reckon the only everyday supercar is a Porsche and I don't like them too much anyway.
My clients Gallardo got the front shield badged.... cost his $1400 just for the shield.
To change the clutch on an Aston Vanquish costs $18000, and that was after 8000kms!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The car really needs to be about 10% of your net worth to afford it comfortably, and Ferraris have very bad depreciation... especially if you actually drive them anywhere.
But yeah I still gunning for a Ferrari in the future, you cant be all accountant about it, its an emotional event driving one.

Agreed the Vantage is a supercar. It just goes about it in a different way.
My opinion is that the Germans have the supercar market stitched up. Quality, reliability and to some extent affordability.
Lambo and Ferrari are well down my list of desired cars.
