Default Crossing the ditch

In late 2007, James Castrission and Justin Jones will kayak 2200km across the Tasman Sea, from Australia to New Zealand. If successful, it will be the first ever crossing and the longest two man kayak expedition ever undertaken....

I've met both these guys and they are good friends of a work mate of mine.

Go fellas.

Do they know that you can just get a plane? Most of them are empty from Aus to NZ.

They've now travelled over 800km in 15 days, and have just under 1300km to go.

Regardless of what happens from here on, that's a fair effort.

It's like a marathon - the last 10km are as hard as the previous 32km.

They are only just beginning.

Go boys go.

Picture of James Castrission after 51+ days at sea.

Some peace in the Tasman this afternoon. The most beautiful sunset yet, no wind, calm seas and my best mate.

Does it get any better?
