The 20 inch apple display is $899 new.
Office for Mac is ~$600
The Lacie external drive is another couple of hundred new.

So you are paying less than $500 for that mac mini!!! (OK, I twisted the numbers... :-))

As you may know I too am on the lookout for a Home Theatre. The only other options beside the mac mini that I find interesting are special built computers running Vista ultimate. They have stereo equipment looking cases and a built in lcd (7") so you don't have to turn on the tv just to play some music (That featrue I really like). But the one I l ike is $4000+ from the dealer.

I think this is me. He's priced a vid card upgrade to the 8800GT for $225 leaving it at $1685 shipped. I'll upgrade the HD and PSU when I find the need.

Aust, for hooking it up to a Plasma that case sure would look like a bugger on a tie in your livingroom....

I personally have fallen in love with the cases that have a touch LCD incorporated....

MOIST!

And I have a copy of Vista Ultimate (and another of SBS 2003 standard) I bought for a client but didn't need in the end... gathering dust on some shelf.... Arrrrrgghhh I am getting itchy!!

I have to get a plasma TV first....

Over 3 m things start to get dicey. Over 10 m you may only get sound. You can extend with a few gadgets though..
