Hi All
Hi there,
I'm planning to visit Aus end/middle of March for a month, now its a bit of a holiday/look to emigrate, so I'm planning on visiting the likes of 'Cairns', 'Brisbane', 'Perth', 'Adelaide' and Melbourne. I'll fly over there and likely get internal flights and use the 'grey hound' bus on east side?
We have a friend of the family who lives in Perth (She is an Aussie) so I'll spend a little time there (I'm 26 and she's 50
), apparently its really nice in Perth.
A few questions if you may?
* I work in the software/nuclear industry (I have a degree and working experience in industry) so hopefully I might be able to get a job in this area - where are the 'uranium' power plants in Aus and how many are they? - I'm looking to try and setup interviews beforehand so when i go over there i can at least get some interviews.
* Is there a sort of north/south divide - I'm a country lad from the north of the UK and a very social/friendly guy, basically the likes of 'London' etc doesnt appeal to me as i find people not as friendly. I like the countryside but dont want to be too far out of the cities?
* I'm not looking for a little britain i want to immerse myself in Aussie culture i believe there are some areas like this in Perth to avoid?
* What natural beauties/places are a must to visit in Aus (e.g Ayers rock etc)?
* Lastly i heard there is a cap on emigration at the moment???, is that for skilled migrates like me.
Any other information would be excellent, I'm currently on wikipedia trying to find as much info as i can though since I'm on the owners forum why not post here. I must say Aus is looking to be very appealing to me, i like the way things are run and the approach and of course the weather.
My reasons for looking to emigrate are i dont like the way the UK is going, I'd like to think back later in life thats I've done something with myself, I'm still young and i fancy a change. My Uncle has been many times working there/living and said it was a great country sadly though he died of cancer many years back so i cant ask him.
If i move looking to get another S2000
.
Cheers

, yes AusS2000 is correct.
If i move then this is the sort of area i would like to work in and hopefully interview/job opertunites would exist.
I'm more skillful in SCADA but pretty good with both PLC and SCADA, the 2 go hand in hand.
Looking at that those sites now, thanks Kida2k.
