Nice but WTF?
Made an unscheduled stop at Carlingford Plaza today. I hadn't been there in eons and was pleased with what I saw. Dunno when they renovated but me likee. Only thing is I had 3 WTF moments:
1. There are car spaces marked "Senior parking only"
2. St George ATM would not give more than $300.
3. $20 for a Salmon Beagel and a smoothie.
WTF?

Was reading a sign in a service station talking about how they can't sell grocery items between certain hours.Yet it was basically a coles express! WTF
Perth NEEDS extended trading hours!

it'd be pretty cool if the city was opened till everynight until 12am, with all the shops open and people scattered over the streets doing their shopping, although i don't think our population facilitates something of this nature, damn, but also kind of good.

there are also "express 1hr parking" spots too .
could of gone to Cabramatta and gotten a Black pepper beef steak with tomato rice and fried egg and a Durian smoothie , all for $10

mate of mine recently moved to the US and its abit like that . We probably need another "late night shopping" night in Syd , as i know Melb has them on Thursday and Friday nights .

Parents with child restraints parking makes sense. You can park there until your kid is big enough.
Seniors parking only makes no sense. Each day there are more and more seniors.
The trip to Cabramatta would have costed me the $20 just in petrol at that time of the day (peak hour)... :-)
24 hour and late shopping are not as nice when it is next door to your place. When we lived in the US we could see the closer a place was to a shopping centre that was open 24 hrs the less it appreciated. Too much noise, randoms hanging around, etc.

PS Cashout, hardly what I'd call a descriptive title. Here's some suggestions:
Carlingford Plaza Upgrades
Why can't I find a park
Damn, lunch is expensive
Could I find anything else to gripe about
This fatherhood/sleep deprivation is not what it's cracked up to be
Considering your whinges in 2. and 3. It sounds like you should be parking in 1.

All the other suggestions don't apply:
1. It wasn't lunch. It was dinner.
2. I found parking easily. I had never seen "Senior Parking Only" hence the WTF moment.
3. Sleep deprivation due to kids is no big deal. I was more sleep deprived in the Jungle looking for bad guys and then the 10 years I ran a SW dev business. At least now I get whatever little sleep I do on my own bed and not on under a tree/office desk
4. I could gripe about the reno but I'd just get flamed..>
