Doesn't it just work? I know the Telstra 3G card will work in a non-3G handset BUT you have to watch the frequency used, some handsets don't support the GSM frequency used by the carrier.
the card will only work in a 3G phone.

My 3G card works on my wifes 2G phone. Hers is my old Razor V3 phone. When I was getting the new one the Vodafone rep just put my old sim on the new phone whilst they got extra 3g sims (they had run out that day... :-)).
I later on (1 year later) found myself with a phone battery that would not charge so I borrowed my wife's phone for a couple of days while I got around to getting a new battery for the k800i. It worked perfectly for voice, voicemail and text.

Yep. That would be because "3" is only a 3G network. One of the reasons I didn't sign up with them back in 2004. There was no coverage in CHill and the phones were way too expensive. I was very intrigued by the video calls though.
