Fact of the Day: A pelican can hold up to 3 gallons (11 liters) of water in its mouth.
A rare old bird is the Pelican
His beak can hold more than his belly can
He can hold in his beak
Enough food for a week
I'm damned if I know how the hell he can.

As nightfall does not come at once, neither does oppression. In both instances, there is a twilight when everything remains seemingly unchanged. And it is in such twilight that we all must be most aware of change in the air -- however slight -- lest we become unwitting victims of the darkness.

One of my favourite quotes after 30 years of dealing with the general public en masse in confined quarters was:

RR, what makes you say that? I am but a simple man, of simple needs and of simple mind. Hence...

Ah yes, but I have noticed that this simple man, of simple needs and of simple mind frequently comes up with some deep and meaningful insights into the nature of humanity and the ways of the world.

Fact of the Day:
Sitting in the Sahara Desert during the midday sun will cause a person to lose 1 gallon (4 liters) of water per hour.

Quote of the Day:
"No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave."
