Default Trip to Australia

Hey all - I'm planning a 2 week trip to Australia with my cousin and I'm looking for some advice.

We're flying into Brisbane and working our way down to Melbourne. Probably going to drive or take the bus from Brisbane down to Sydney, then book a flight from Sydney to Melbourne since there doesn't seem to be too much to do in between.

Looking for any advice on things to see and do. We were thinking of doing the Sydney bridge walk. It's $185 for the night tour and $225 for the day tour. Is the tour worth it? And is the day tour that much better?

We will be traveling from 26 August to 8 September. Anything particularly cool going on at that time.

Sorry if it sounds like I haven't done any research on this. I've paged through a few travel books but I find it's usually best to get advice from the locals (feel free to hit me up if you ever need advice on traveling to Chicago).

Thanks!

What age bracket are you and what gives you a buzz? Nature? Beaches? Nightclubs? Food?

My cousin and I are in our early 30's. While I wouldn't consider myself an outdoors-man, there seem to be nature experiences unique to Australia that I would love to experience. Beaches are awesome too. More of a bar/pub guy than nightclubs - a bit old for that. We're both big foodies.
