Default Xbox360 / PS3 / Wii

Hey Crew

Im kind of in the market for a new gaming console , as after playing/ seeing the PS3 and 360 , the PS2 doesnt cut it anymore .

I was thinking of getting a PS3 , but the down side is, it hasnt been cracked yet , so CBF paying retail prices for games . On the other hand the 360 has been cracked , but apparently its not as good as the PS3 . As for the Wii , the genre of games arent my cup of tea.

Any of you guys or girls got any of these systems and care to share any feedback

Have none of them.
But having played the 360 and ps3 I'll say either of them will be a vast improvement over the previous generation graphics wise.

Money wise I can't see myself forking out >$300 ever for a console... so it will be a long wait for me ... :-)

I have set up a PS3 for a friend and am very impressed with the graphics but still can't get my head around the dinky little controls. Like driving a Porsche with a bottle cap for a steering wheel.

I like the Wii for it's innovative interface but I'm not sure about the games.

And the Xbox 360 is so last year (or the year before).

Wii is good for having friends over that don't really play games. Anyone can pretty much pick up the wiimote and have fun. I certainly wouldn't be buying it for the graphics, but then again it is around half the price of a PS3.

I'll be getting an xbox360 but that's because I want to use it as a media centre and from what I've been told the PS3 is very limited in its file type recognition.

if your serious about buying a 360 , we might be able to do a deal. My brother won one at a work function . Its got the shut down problem common with 360. Im sending back to Microsoft for a replacement with a brand new one. If your interested , i'll sell it to you. Its the premium pack .

I've got the Wii and X360. I didn't get the PS3 because a lot of the games are available on the X360 and graphics are VERY similar for the same games (the supposedly more powerful processor of the PS3 is yet to be realised). The quality of games are definitely better on the 360, plus the online community is huge. I would recommend you don't chip your 360 because it renders you unable to play online. the cost of legitimate gaming is not high at all. You can buy new release games online for under $80 these days and when you're done with them you can sell them for around half that (depending on age of title) so for a $40 outlay providing you with weeks or months or entertainment is pretty damn good value.

The only trump card for PS3 is the Blu-Ray player (You can get an HD-DVD player add-on for the 360 for under $130 however including a free HD-DVD movie) and the proprietary games of Metal Gear and GT5 (not out yet). Other than that, the PS3 seems poor value compared to the 360, which has a much larger library of excellent games and fantastic online support.

i have a wii and a 360, and have a ps3 on occassional weekends..

wii is good fun, but games can be pretty monotonous. mario galaxy is awesome.

360 has heaps of awesome games..

ps3 looks and plays a bit better, but has a lot fewer good games. ps3 comes with free online play which is a bit of a plus and the blu ray player.

i'd get the wii and the 360.. for the same price as the ps3.

I just got the xbox 360, awesome! but it has been out for a few years, I only got it for Forza2...makes GT4 look like a joke! If only it wasn't so 'ricey'...

the Wii is only fun with friends etc...the game's are not that involving...with the xbox there are online sites that sell the games for about $50-60 shipped here!!! even the new releases etc! well worth it...

I would wait before getting a PS3...it's like $699 here? You can get one from Asia for $3-400 and it will work here too...besides that there's not really any good games out at the moment!
