By the way I have only done 32,000 kms in mine, but they said because of the time frame I needed a 40,000 kms service !!

I spoke to Miles, the service rep at Scotts about this (didnt seem too interested to hear me out) and they ended up charging me $960 as i didnt require a replacement air filter (he thinks that was the reason why it was a little cheaper, he wasnt sure)

He said the main expense was labour which I think was 4.8 hours apparently!!!!!! I wil bring the invoice in tommorow for u guys.

By the way they broke a fuel filter clip so i have to go back and get that fixed...no charge

This will be the last time I think I will go to Scotts Honda Ararmon.

Willring around next time

Had mine done yesterday at Robert Lane, $648, not too bad.

However apparently my clutch plate is slipping now which is causing some significnat additional vibrations which I hope they will be able to cover under warranty....

I agree - had mine done recently at Robert Lane in Brighton. Cost $666

They did the chassis bolt check, changed brake fluid and did the valve clearances as well.

They did a great job.

Don't laugh at "chassis tightening". When I removed the anti-lift kit from my WRX recently one of the bolts holding the lower suspension arm to the chassis had come almost completely loose. It would have been very entertaining to have that fail at speed.

If you want to get serviced by a Honda expert but non Honda try Hanny's Performance at Smithfield. My 40k service costed $270. That is with transmisiion fluid change as well. This guy lives and breath Honda. But he HATES modification on the Hondas. His belief is that it good already from factory why change it.

Can you elaborate?
1. Did you ask for each of these items or did they recommend them?
2. What is the chassis bolt check and is it a known issue?
3. Why check the valve clearances if it not part of the scheduled service.

My 40K is coming up soon and I want to make sure I do everything I should.

Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah - 40K service, that's nothing.... I'm coming up on my 140K service!!

Here are the costings on my 'major' ITR services....

40K service = $394 - ($240 labour + $117 parts/fluids + $36 GST) @ 'Rolfe Honda' (Belconnen, ACT) - 27/11/00

80K service = $618 - ($350 labour + $212 parts/fluids + $56 GST) @ 'Rolfe Honda' (Belconnen, ACT) - 03/09/01

100K service = $672 - ($367 labour + $244 parts/fluids + $61 GST) @ 'Robert Lane Honda' (East Brighton, VIC) - 12/08/02

Engine, gearbox etc is still going strong (no oil problems or gear change issues).... just my suspension is getting very very tired (does not handle as well as it use to)!!

Since my 'extended warranty' ran out at 120K.... I've been having my car serviced by Mark Cravino (ex GTP mechanic for Dave Woods' ITR & S2K) @ 'Bay Road Exhaust/Service Centre'!!

He (Mark Cravino) is cheaper, more efficient and I trust him way more than the young 'grease monkeys' at Honda!!

I'd like to fit a nice set of adjustable 'coil-overs'.... but finances dictate, that they'll have to wait a little while.
