The A050 is a pretty good tyre; I can vouch for that. Notably better than the R888s I'ved used in the past.

It ended up not to be knocking at all. I was just given some bad information by a garage owner with an attitude . The Apexi Neo is still working brilliantly, and I have no plans to change it until I fit ITB’s. At that point I will most likely upgrade to a Haltech ECU.

In other news, things with the car have been going exceptionally well. The new A050's helped us to take 2nd place in Class AO of the Sprint Series. We reduced the gap to the leading Lotus Elise from 4 secs (per lap) to < 1 sec, by the end of the season. The new tyres certainly helped a lot in this regard, but it's difficult to compare them fairly to the R888's as I increased my footprint at the same time.

The car has also seen some track time at Barbagallo Raceway recently. It felt absurdly well planted, and the new brake ducting worked beautifully. I have upgraded to 2.5” hosing to fit on the back of the ducts on the J’s half lip, and I had no fade whatsoever. We also put the car on the weighbridge at Barb’s and found that it is now 1155kg (with half a tank)

The last upgrade for this year will be a diff rebuild. We currently have an OS Giken Super Lock LSD sitting in the garage, awaiting install. We will also be fitting a Racing Beat 4.44 final drive during the rebuild. The changes to the diff should be worth at least a second around the RAC DTC, so we will hopefully catch the leading Elise next year!

The diff rebuild is nearly complete, it's been a bit of a mission and not without it's problems, but all is sorted now.
I'm really looking forward to getting it back on the car and seeing how it performs. Here's a few piccy's of the build;

Original diff, measuring the tolerances (just to see if Honda did a good job);

Original pinion removed;

Cover cleaned up and new seals installed;

Centre installed;

Backlash adjustment markers;

The guy who's being doing the build for me is an absolute champion! PM me for his details if you ever need any diff work doing

I have an odd question for you.

Is your car a UK personal import?
