Went to the local drag strip last night.
Left everything in the car...probably 100-150kg on top of oem weight. The track was very slippery....could not get any traction with launch at all.

Best time 13.7 trap 106mph
Worst time 19 sec...damn exedy!!!

A few warnings
1. DONT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THE DRAG STRIP. After only 7 runs, I can I hear more noise from the rear diff aldready. I went yesterday because I am going to upgrade the diff ratio soon

2. DONT BUY THE EXEDY CLUTCH. It is good for track work but overheat too quick with stop-go traffic and then.....slippppppppp so embarassing 19sec

How about a run down on the 13.7 run? Is 106 a good trap?

What do you mean Austblue?
I just took my car there for a fun run on street tyres that's all!!!!
-4krpm clutch slight slip/dump, terrible traction and lots of wheel spin/bounce, shift at around 8.5krpm (f20c scared me)

I was aiming for 13.5 with my current setup but did not make it
I hope to get it down to sub 13 when the car is all done but drag strip does not impress me that much ...hmmm may not go again.

The problem with the S is it's just not set up for drag racing. And the SC is not ideal either.

To get a good ET and Trap in an S you need two things:
1. An good drag racer
2. who has no respect for your S

Not having a go h9k. Personally I think drag racing is for ADD sufferers. My races last much longer than 15 seconds.

Thats pretty much what I wanted to know Do you know what your 60' time was?

I know what you're saying wrt the early shift but I think that you're kind of taking it a little too far. There is a rev limiter that will prevent over-rev while shifting correctly as Im sure that you know. As for what happened to Fireball, I could be corrected but I dont think this is a normal occurence that we accept by driving our cars to the set limit and hence reducing your max revs to 8.5 isnt going to mean that you go to heaven while we burn in hell.

If Fireball had've shifted at 5k and had the same horrific occurence would you shift at 4.5k? Im not having a shot at you and of course and I respect your decisions since it is your car and you are the one paying the bills(see disclaimer.

Disclaimer: I in no way guaruntee that your motor will be safe from any harm due to changing your ways based on my feelings.
