Hi s2000 gurus,

I've got a 2001 S and when your rear window gets foggy, what's the best way to clean it? I don't seem to be able to clean it crystal clear.

cheers everyone.

bk0908, there's been a lot of previous discussion about this. Just do a "search".

To cut a long story short, just go to your local Honda dealer and buy a bottle of plastic rear window cleaner. Rub vigorously.

I found 303 protectant for sale at a boating supply store near me (Parramatta). Whilst this isn't a cleaner as such, it is a UV protectant to stop it window going brittle and yellow.

Cleaning the inside of the back plastic rear window is a pain! Also clean the rear sort of area inside where the roof folds into (roof well). This can get really dirty.

Once you have the window looking shiny and new, check out http://www.prestigeautoaccessories.com for a roof well mat, to help stop the window from scratching when it is down.

Or just use a towel like I did

Prestige auto accesories is actually run and owned by Muz who you will see floating around this site so you can find a lot of good info on his products if that's what you're after.

Plexus plastic polish is very good. You get it at motorcycle shops - riders use it to clean/protect their helmet visors.

Plexus is very popular but I've found using Plexus alone doesn't remove stubborn oxidization... at least in my experience.

Megiuars #10 & #17 has always worked extremely well for me. One is a cleaner, the other is a polish.

I use this once every few months and maintain with Plexus in between.

Watch these Megiuars products. I agree that they clean the plastic window very well, to the extent that even a very badly fogged window will come up almost as new.
However, be very careful not to get any of the cleaner on the fabric surrounding the window. It will bleach it, as I have found out to my dismay. Megiuars should put a warning on the bottles.

The Megiuars stuff can be hard to find in car accessory shops - if you have trouble and live in Sydney, Megiuars have an office in Silverwater where you can pick them up direct.
