Default Honda Sports Car Club

Hi All,

Is it worth joining the HSCC?

Are anyone here members?

What are the benefits of membership?

Do I get a shiny card like the S2ki one??

Thanks.

Chris.

Hi Chris, in the early years (2000-2003) the NSW & Vic clubs were quite active - but somewhere in 2004 - 2005 they faded away. This S2Ki forum is now more active than the clubs.

You can find more info about the clubs at ..........

Queensland: http://www.hscc.org.au/hscc.php

Victoria: http://www.hsccv.org.au

NSW: - try contacting DavefromSydney

In Victoria the HSCCV is committed to running two Winton track days. One in April and one in November - but there are no social events planned.

I used to be a member but after honda withdrew support for anual trackday it seems worthless. Good social club but not enough rev heads in SA so I have not been active for 2+ years now.

Chris,

I went along to one of the Qld meetings once. About 2 years ago now it was.

Nice bunch of people. In fact, that was where I met Igs. But, it was the usual story with these things...not much really happening, and no-one wanting to really pick up the ball (so to speak) and run with it. Lots of enthusiastic talk about things people would like to do; no-one organising any of it.

Here's a few things you might find interesting:

http://www.hscc.org.au/gallery/gchinterland.shtml

I don't know whether Dennis is still the treasurer. I thought it might have been a guy called Gavin Goelding or something. But really, I wouldn't know. Iggy, can you enlighten us about this, and also- what's going on with this club?

Also, hscc.org.au is "down for maintenance"...I suspect that might remain the way for some time.

All in all, not really worth joining, methinks.

cheers

Chris,

I emailed the guy who is listed as an organiser for the club- his response is below.

cheers
FD

Hi Warwick,

This is quite a rareity, an HSCC‑QLD email!

Sadly, the club is very quiet at the moment and very little activity is planned for the future. It's quite sad really, but people were unable to make alot of the events that we organised and this obviously doesn't help the commitment from event organisers. Honda's official support for the club diminished also, which is quite sad.

Sadly, I sold my Honda Integra almost a year ago as I have been overseas. I will be returning in March and time will tell whether I actually get myself another Honda .... fingers crossed! .

Upon my return I will get in contact with the club captain and president and see if we can re‑ignite the enthusiasts and get some events running again. I can assure you I will let you know if we do!

‑Ryan
