if you change to an aftermarket deck you will loose the use of your dash controls . You will need to install a DCI to make it compatible.

with my kenwood deck you can use the mute....no volume or mode changer though.

I believe some sony headunits support the volume, mode and mute button - otherwise yer DCI.

i have the JVC AVX2 with a dci
full control of volume, mute, track selection, radio selection.
the dci in most cases wont get the mute working, as the button on the car latches on and off instead of just sending a signal when pressed
to get the mute working you will need any basic car relay

I don't know of any Sony units that support the dash controls without a DCI.

HRT, I have seen some PAC-SWI-Xs here but there is no point. Just order a DCI from Modifry. It'll get here in no time and is a much better unit.

It supports most head units, comes in either hard wired or IR has more functions than stock and even has speed dependent volume control.

You mean dipswitch?

It's been a long time. I'll see if I can have a look on the weekend.
