Default i got a low oil light

the past few days a warning light pops up, im not 100% certain, but i think it might be a low oil light, but it flicks on once then turns off everytime i make a hard left sweeping turn, maybe its the oil swishing around, im not too sure.

seeing as its the weekend, and all the honda dealers r closed, u think it would be wise to top it up with mobil 1 until i go for my service???

It would seem like you are low on oil, top it up immediately.
Mine did that a few months after I bought it as I was unaware of how much oil it drank, if I braked hard the oil light would turn on for a second or so.

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious but you didn't mention it in your original post, did you check the dipstick to check the oil level?

I thought the oil light was there to represent an oil pressure problem?
Have you actully checked your level?

If it is low enough to turn the light on fill it up immediately.
Dont wait for the next service.
Mine can use 4-5 litres between 10k services, i.e. enough to drain the sump.
I top it up every 1000-2000 kms.

No I dont fang it much, although I did a bit more in the first year.
As far as I know such oil consumption is within the range of normal for this car.

There have been several topics over the years pointing out that you need to check your oil often because it can go down a liter or two in just a few thousand kms. Its not like my Commodore, that's for sure. I have almost never checked the oil between service on that one and I have had it for 10 year and it now has 140,000 km.

oil light is bad, it must be heaps low. You will probably need to add like 2-3 litres of oil to bring it up to the correct level.

Have you been redlining it heaps lately? if the oil has been low enough you may have done some damage to the bore.

the engine is high revving, and it really needs its oil. The XXX's on the dipstick usually represent about a few pints of oil and you need to keep it between that level to ensure adequate oil levels.

Has your car still been kicking into VTEC with the oil low?

personally i'd drive another car, go get the correct oil and top it up as soon as possible and hopefully you'll be right.

The top mark on the dip stick is full, the bottom is 1L low. If you are 1.5, 2, 3 or god forbid 4Ls low it won't show at all.

But the oil pressure switch is just that, a switch. Either on or off. If there is no oil pressure you are wearing your engine out quickly. You should still have oil pressure with as little as 2L of oil.

Which leads me to wonder the one thing you left out. What is your dipstick reading (and I don't mean what comic is Will currently flicking through)?

With this car if your oil level drops you should be on top of it. If you get to the point of seeing an oil pressure light you have got problems. Or possible a faulty oil pressure switch/connection.
