Melbourne Drive Day
The Honda Sports Car Club of Victoria is organising a drive day for members and other interested people on Sunday August 22nd.
The suggestion is that we meet somewhere close to the city - say Robert Lanes in Brighton and proceed via some scenic country side AT CRUISING PACE to a destination for a group lunch.
There are a few possibilities - Daylesford, Poowong(no, I did not make it up - it is in Gippsland near Kurumburra) and Flinders.
Meeting time about 10.00am, lunch about 12.00midday.
Please register your interest in attending, and any other suggestions/comment here.
This is an event that indicates a re-vitalisation of the HSCCV and it is being organised for you enthusiasts - SO please support it !!

There was a previous drive where we all went to the Pub/Brewery somewhere in Gippsland that went very well and was enjoyed by all. There is an old thread on the board, complete with photos.
I think the concept of going somewhere for a lunch is a good idea. Daylesford has a few good spots for lunch. Perhaps one of the vinyards in the Yarra Valley or perhaps down the Mornington Peninsula.
One place that has been recommended to me is the mansion at the Werribee open plains zoo. I've heard they do a very good lunch. And for those who are worried ---- NO, you don't have to drive the open top car through the lion enclosure!
I'm not particularly fussed which area we go to, they're all good.
I'll certainly be a starter. I think we need to get the S2000 fraternity activated again with a few social events rather than just track days.

Is this open for any Honda sports car ? Or just the 's2000 fraternity' so to speak???
1) The HSCCV is for ITR, NSX & S2000.
2) On a social drive I don't think it matters. Even non-Honda cars will be allowed. I'm thinking there might be a Corvette or two, a Nissan 350Z, a purple Porsche and a couple of other ring-ins. (Perhaps even a Holden ute?)
It would be reasonable to anticipate that there would be a number of S2000s but they may not necessarily make up a majority. Who knows?
At this stage we're busy trying to drum up attendees so we want to do whatever we can to encourage people to come along and be social.

As RedRover says, the more the merrier - you are most welcome to join us.
We want to see as many Honda sports cars as possible there as we are trying to build up the HSCCV.
What do you drive??

Yes I drive a 2001 Blue s2000 nowadays, should be listed in my profile. A few years ago I was driving an ITR 97 white.
