Yeah i know, thats why i dont do it on public roads. Way too dangerous. I did it on my mates private farm with loads of free space to do stupid things on. Except most of it is grass and bushland but enough concrete to have fun!

ahhh kids. I don't think you would need that much power to drift in the wet... but if you tried "clutch kicking" a Isuzu Prime mover, I don't think it could give you a good indication of power... and it has 338kw @ 1800rpm, 2255 nm @ 1300rpm. lols.

Nah didnt mean "how much power i have" just wanted to drift in the rain since we road tripped it there might aswell make it worth while. And to see how long i could maintain a drift before gripping again without putting to much stress on the diff and engine. This is my first rwd car anyway. Sorry for mis-interpretation guys. Btw im 22 am i considered a kid? just wondering.

Actual age doesn't always define "kid"... actions assist the labelling.
In the wet, stay off vtec. You don't need to dump the clutch to get your wheels spinning. You only need to shift into 5000rpm to get the wheels spinning a little.
Personally never had that problem sound.
ps - congrats on the car. Look after it and don't drive like a maniac. Too many youngins writing their cars off and hurting themselves and others these days.

Oh okay, well trying to learn as much as I can since i just got the car. Atleast im not doing the stupid stuff on public roads right? Once in a while we cruise to the farm and just camp there. 4WD driving is most funnest to be honest. Thanks, i will look after it like i looked after my civic but with more care and love this time. I'm a paranoid owner thats why I wont be dropping the clutch anymore . And yeah dont want to be like them, just bought my baby and im loving it.

I think this deserves a reminder of what this sort of behavior can produce. C'mon guys let's not appear to be like other car clubs that seem to condone street racing or hooning.

This was done on a private farm land, theres no one else there except for my mates parents who live there? (also us who went to camp there).. *relax* Its not done on the public streets where other peoples lives are in danger not to mention how dangerous it is.. How much do 4.44 final drives cost with it installed in a diff? Haha auss2000, wont be dropping the clutch anymore dont worry. Probably just make a little course with witches cones at the farm which wont be any time soon, too far of a drive.

Hmm, nah just pickin' at the new guy. Everyone's done it (i think)...attempt to drift that is, and its good fun. Just respect the car and it'll respect your wallet. I've had 1-2 close calls with vtec in the wet - once at Winton 2 months after I bought the car... I spun and slide out and couldn't catch the car, locked the wheels and watched the fencing getting closer. Thank god for gravel pits. Tbh, it scared the shit out of me and I kind of have a phobia of driving in the wet now - i try not to take corners too fast and shift up gears as fast as I can.
