I run the course today at 8/10ths effort as the final 14kms training session. I wasn't gonna do it but went to cruise with the smart club and they couldn't fathom a drive that didn't include 3 stops for cappuchino and was longer than 30 kms!!

By 11:30 I had drunk more coffe in one day than I do in a month so I decided to leave and do one last 14kms training session. Since we were in the double bay/watsons bay/rose bay area it was just logical to do the actual course.

Running time: 1:34:40
I figure I lost about 1 minute due to having to stop at a couple of intersections and waiting for the crossing light. Another minute or so for the bits where you can't quite follow the course when the streets are not closed and maybe another minute for not going 10/10ths.

So 1:30 may be in the cards... :-) :-)

Anybody else not painting their calipers next weekend??

My calipers need another coat.

I've been training quite a bit but my fitness assessment this morning at Boot Camp made me realise I have a ong way to go. I guess some of that could be my debaucherous weekend but that's all part of the training.

If you can walk 14kms you can do it. The time limit is 4+ hrs so you have NO excuse!!

Sure, but I've done it in 64 minutes so my current performance would be very depressing. Plus it's a bloody awful event. Way too many people. After doing it in 64 mintues I had to walk to Bondi Junction and get public transport home.
