Default Pads from Race Brakes

Heya all who have purchased pads from Race Brakes... I got a question: which pads did you get and ho was it? I should be getting C6 (I think? from memory)... they said it's mainly a track pad that can be used on the road. It's $135 for a set of fronts. Just wondering what you guys think?

Thanks

I use C6 on the front and C2 on the rear - on the track - I swap back to std Honda for road use; the C6 is too hard on the rotors for day-to-day use, though www.dba.com.au now list rotors for S2000s and ITRs... Happy with this setup, though winding the rear pistons back in is a pain without special tool xyz...

Is the C2 more road oriented or more race oriented than the C6? I need a new set of rears for the road and want to avoid the standard Honda pads if possible.

I have C6 in the front and C2 in the back .... that's what 'Race Brakes' recomended and say that they fit to 'all' the S2000's that come for the pads.

Also C6 is more 'race oriented' than C2.

Thanks David - how much were the rears? I'll try and drop in there tomorrow.

DBA have been saying they will produce S2000 rotors 'real soon now' for the last two and a half years.

It appears they are finally available.

I think I'll get a set in slotted and drilled longlife gold. Yerrrmmmm!

Genrally stay away from drilled rotors - despite casting techniques they WILL crack eventually if you use the car on a track with heavy braking - note that even the ferrari etc rotors are prone to cracking.

DBA themselves only recommend their slotted rotors for track use

I wonder if you can still get the gold finish, and if it protects the edges from rust. A small thing I know, but it would be nice.

Totally agree. The "Longlife Gold" is for show. Even the DBA slotted rotors will crack, or at least they do on WRXs. Sometimes it's catastrophic No problems if you inspect them before every event to see the cracks early but you've got to take it into account. They make a nice 2-piece rotor for the WRX that I'm using. No problems so far with these.
