Default Stirring Up Interest For A S.e. Qld S2k Run..

Who 's up to getting together?
I been seeing quite a few S 2000's getting around the coast lately..
I'm not sure how many are members of S2KI, so am posting this to see if there is any interest in getting a drive day together.
Chance to meet other enthusists and network...
Maybe do some photo shoots?
I mean its what we can make of it ourselves.....

XOZ, The membership database seems to be de-activated whilst V4 is being tried out.

If you're really keen to find out and can't wait till V4 re-introduces access to the membership data you could go back through some of my old posts where I analysed the Australian membership and gave a state by state breakup of the numbers.

For info about the HSCC Qld I suggest MUZ may know all the contact details.

To find the old posts just go to the bottom of the Australian Forum page and change the date range from last 30 days to "the beginning" and then manually work your way through. The total Australian membership is now about 950 and I suspect (not certain) that Queensland would be about 60-70.

Yes, but it's crap.

I went along to the Qld HSCC AGM about 5-6 months ago, shortly after I got my white s2k.

I gave them my details, and said I would be interested in joining.

I have heard nothing further. Pretty ironic, given that half the time at the AGM was spent talking about how the club had declined and how they really needed to chase new members.

One curious thing is that the club is a cash box. It has around $3k in net assets, and only a few financial members.

If the members had any sense they would dissolve it and distribute the cash. Per s92 Associations Incorporations Act:

"92 Distribution of surplus assets
(1) Where, upon the winding-up of an incorporated association, a special resolution relating to the distribution of the surplus assets of the incorporated association has been passed by its members in accordance with its rules, all surplus assets shall, subject to any trust affecting the same, be disposed of in the manner so resolved."

Maybe I should join, just so that I can propose such a resolution...
