Aus at a night club, "...I love convertible cars, I drive one myself"
random: "really now.." <gives the eye and proceeds to drink weird cocktail through a straw>
"Yes really, even my garage has a convertible roof." <winks, smiles, glimmer of light reflects off front teeth>

yeah ur right I cant afford it....my budget is limited to 35K maybe 36 max...I've always been under the impression that the biggest difference between an 02 and older models is the glass rear window as well as minor differences with the clutch. After reading a few posts on here, it seems like u can get the glass roof installed on a pre 02 model for around 1500 to 2000 bucks.... if worst comes to worst I can always do that I guess. if I get an 00 or 01 model now for 35K, I'm assuming I'll be able to sell in 2 years time for 25-30K if it has 100K+ on the clock.... does that sound logical ? or am I missing something ?
and Euroasian bought his car with 110,000kms on it and its in good condition
As for selling it down the track , regardless what car you buy your gonna loose out in resale . And as for the S2k , i think its reaching a stage where they are going to stabalize in price . I personally dont think you will see one dip into the low $20k's anytime in the near future . If your budget is $35k , best to aim for a 99-01 as you need to take into account stamp duty ($1200-1500) , insurance , servicing cost etc .

thanks Vuey, you;ve been a great help.... I know some of these questions seem a little strange, but this is the first sports car I buy. Before my euro I had a E36 bemma and both car r very easy to buy and re-sell again. Thats why I wanted to do my research b4 I buy the s2K.
Cheers mate

i was quoting prices from Redbook / NRMA price guide. Which is what the majority of Australia goes by
00 models $35,600 , 01 $40,000 , 02 $44,700 , 03 $49,600 , 04 $54,200
( source NRMA open road mag - Nov - Dec 06 )
these prices reflect what you will see on Carsales etc for good examples (low kms , 0 acciddents, full service ) .

theres an 02 silverstone s2k atm on carsales asking 37k....
I think I'd rather buy a 99-01 model with less KM on it. Not to mention its in sydney and I'm from melbourne... Which brings me up to my next question... Do many ppl buy from interestate ? is it worth the hastle ?
