I've probably already had that done.

It's strange how I didn't experience that problem...

Me neither. It would be interesting to know how many people in total have experienced this problem. At this stage it seems too minimal to even worry about.

Muz, I disagree strongly. Things like porous blocks could be argued to be manufacturing faults affecting a %age no matter how small. But this is a design fault, therefore every car has it but not all of us have hit the circumstances to have it mature into failure.

You could use the same argument to not do safety recalls as well.

I didn't think the problem was very widespread, but if Honda have decided to issue the TSB in a few countries, it has got me slightly worried.

On the strength of the info I went to the trouble of removing my plugs on the week-end. All tight and "jammed", but all OK and no lost electrodes which AusS2000 found. The "jamming" was just light a binding thread which is not good From memory the book does not say to lubricate the thread but in the past on other cars I have always used a little bit of Moly on the thread as it is unaffected by the heat. But because of the reported "loosening" I resisted and just wire brushed the thread.

The one thing that I did find is that there was a ring of rust at the base of the ceramic on all plugs which I have never seen on any other of my cars. May be this is the fact that the plugs are nearing 3 years / 45k life whereas most other plugs would have been replaced well before this - even my expensive Golden Lodge from the "good old days"...

Speaking to the receptionist of my dealers' service department about an unrelated matter today, I was told to bring the car in next week to "fix the spark plugs". She was rather vague about the details; anyone else has been contacted about it?

Yeh, my Honda dealer called me last week and told me to come in and replace the spark plugs at my next service because of this problem. I dont think I will wait until the next service though, I might see if I can book it in next week.

Hey, can someone make sure to check to see if they are recognizing a new TSB from Honda Aus. That would mean a lot to those of us in the US.
