International flair is delivered by the likes of Australian double Le Mans 24 Hour winner David Brabham and German champion Jorg Bergmeister, and the American driver contingent is well-represented by stars Johnny O’Connell, Patrick Long, Bill Auberlen and Joey Hand.

Featuring five classes of racing, with three tiers of prototypes: LMP1 for the bigger, heavier, more powerful and faster cars such as the Audi, Lola and Peugeot; LMP2 where the smaller less powerful, but incredibly nimble cars from HPD, Mazda and Porsche, and LMPC, where the identical ORECA-Chevrolet prototypes battle against one another with the same chassis, Corvette-based engine and Michelin tires. Made from carbon fiber and using dedicated racing engines, transmissions and cutting edge electronics, the LMP cars are the pinnacle of auto racing ingenuity.

With LMP1s ruling on the straights, LMP2s owning the corners and the LMPC cars offering affordable open-topped competition, the American Le Mans Series offers incredible technical variety for every fan.

The final two classes, GT2 and GTC, provide immense diversity and opportunity for sportscar fans and drivers alike. With GT2 loaded with the world’s finest manufacturers like BMW, Porsche, Corvette, Ferrari, Jaguar and Ford, iconic brands wage what’s often the most fierce battles of every Series event. Built from cars directly off the assembly plant production lines, the GT2 category showcases the best of what each marque has to offer its customers in cars converted to racing trim.

GTC, a new class based on the Porsche GT3 Cup car, provides a platform for gentlemen drivers to participate in the Series with equal GT machinery. Using a spec car and spec Yokohama tires, GTC is the perfect introductory class for teams and drivers who share the ambition of joining the bigger ALMS classes.
