Montoya's turning left. If Frank doen't pick up Webber, he's in the picture at Renault, McLaren, Toyota, and Red Bull. Hamilton will go somewhere other than McLaren (or take McLaren test role) for a year. Paffett might keep a McLaren seat warm for a year if lucky, but a backmarker race drive is more likely. If Villeneuve's ousted at BMW, he could follow JPM to NASCAR, or if he's lucky Toyota might let him run for a year while they look for a younger talent.
Much will depend on how the engine contracts shake out. Cosworth will want badly to supply Red Bull, otherwise they're left with only Midland/STR. Renault would be the engine to have, but Red Bull doesn't want to be the "second" team or they'd just stay with Ferrari. A Red Bull/Cosworth with Coulthard and Webber driving would be interesting. If Renault lands Kimi, then Kovaleinen could go to the second Renault team with a promise to replace Fisi in '08.

As of right now I believe KR is holding all the cards, so much is going to happen after he decides where he is going, and I suspect he has a number of offers/options on the table right now.
As far as McLaren is concerned now Pedro de la Rosa will be another factor. If he does well for the balence of the season ya just never know what might happen for him.
Of all the test drivers out there I wish like hell someone would buy out AD contract and give him a race seat, let's see what he can really do.
I believe there is about a 0.003% change MS will retire this year.
NR I suspect will be with Frank for a very long time. In fact Nico will be there until someone buys him away from Frank, that's how I see it. I think Nico is going to become a huge star in F1.
I so hope DC does not retire this year, I would like to see him with RB for a couple more years as I believe RB is going to become one of the best teams and I think David's wealth of experience could help them in a big way.

Yep, it all hinges on where KR lands (you know McLaren want to keep him, though it seems unlikely now). I would love to see him partner either FA or MS, but at this point he'd be nuts to turn down Renault. Once he chooses, the engine contracts will be key.
When the music stops, Davidson seems likely to end up without a seat (certainly a competitive one). A shame, but like Hollywood, once typecast as a supporting man it's hard to find leading roles. Same goes for de la Rosa, who is also disadvantaged by being 35 years old, so even with a good performance this season he's not likely to secure a race seat for more than a year.

How interesting would it be if Alonso all of a sudden decided to pull a Button and try to stay with Renault? Maybe I'm being naive, but couldn't this still be a possiblity?
Something's amiss at McLaren - They went from being a competitive but unreliable package in 2005 to an uncompetitive and unreliable package in 2006. Alonso made the deal when he thought McLaren would be running the best car on the grid. he HAS to be second-guessing himself.

I suspect if there is any way in hell for FA to pull that off he will. I'm a firm believer if there is enough money most contracts can be bought out. The the question is, has he burned his bridge with Flavio and would Flavio even want him? And based upon Fissi's performance at Indy, I suspect this is an even hotter question.
